I have 2 speakers that have been lying around for about 30 years and was wondering how much i would need to invest to get them working again and if its even worth it.
Right now i have no way to check if its working and im worrying about the state of the cone ( apparently when i was little i had the urge to destroy it... ) but as i remember it they were left in perfect working order.(also its in HI-FI since it had a lil HI-FI badge on it )

You would need an amplifier to power them. The woofers look quite damaged on them though. I think your best bet would be to find access to a stereo or AV amplifier and test them on that first before you put any money into them.
Do you know any friends or family that have an amplifier? If so, ask them if you can borrow it just to test the speakers out on. If you like the sound they produce then it's up to you to decide whether you think it's worth spending the money on an amplifier.

Wow that's one huge dust cap. Can you read russian? lol.
You need an amp, and will probably have to fix those dents in the dust caps. As long as there's no rotted foam on the inside, and the tweeter isn't damaged, not much else needs to be done. But yea, plug them in, or crack them open, and if they look/sound decent then go for it. Personally I would open them up and take a look inside, but that's your choice.

after opening it up i don't really want to test it
Inside i found some weird orange foam and i accidentally tore it apart. but the weird part is that it was lying on the bottom of the speaker so i guess its not really needed. ![]() anyways theres tons of cotton or something stuffed into bags behind the speakers. ![]() ![]() ![]() some metal parts are corroded which can't be a good thing. ![]() the worst part is the wire on the tweeter. it basically lost its rubber part and could short circuit easily. luckily the wires are easily replaceable. ![]() ![]() and the wiring looks kinda sketchy ![]() also the woofer is huge compared to my current speakers ![]() ![]() also i hardly speak any Russian.

Where did you get those S90F-s.. Just plug 'em in and see your house shaking. I used to have some S90-s when I was a little boy. (and did they have some sick bass)Still got the Radiotehnika amp and analogue radio in my cellar. Good luck restoring them!

look like some quality crossover components, I'd say if you're up for it, take a crack at getting one going at a time, I'd suggest a full rewiring in some decent Guage wire to start...

Sadly the amp is missing for them :/
they're like heritage tbh. When my country was taken over by the Russians my dad somehow managed to get em. he even had a sony amp for them which, i guess, was hard to get when import wasn't allowed. but he took the damn amp away ant i can't test em ( im from Lithuania btw )edit : so is there anyway to fix a bent dust cap? all 4 dust caps on the mid range and woofers are bent :/ since they're just dust caps will they distort the sound?

I'd re-wire the whole thing. That wire has probably been in there at least 10-15 years. I'd replace all thew wire and all cracking and missign rubber peices I would replace as well. Do not remove Foam or more rubber peices from the speaker if they are still in place. The cotton was to protect the speaker from bangs or movements btw.

Easily solved with a light suck of a vacuum cleaner.
As long as you do it carefully, and they aren't bent/creased too much they should be fine.

i opened up the second one and it seems to be in much better shape. none of the wires are exposed but the wire is still stranded so ill have to replace them anyway. also the foam is actually placed around the tube that supplies air to the inside but i don't think that its important.
edit: also what if i connected it to a mini hi-fi system? this one.
