I'm going to upgrade my speaker from the crappy JVC Cubes to some high quality speakers. (I dont think my parents will like this BUT WHAT DO I CARE!)

After some searching I found these speakers. I find them a bit on the expensive side but hope to only invest once.

These will be hooked up to my trusty Yamaha receiver. I wont be BiWiring/BiAmping these speakers but I may in the future.

What do you guys think?

Maybe other suggestions for speakers? Preferably tower kind of build.

and yea those are some nice speakers, though i need to look for some reviews on em first.

i really like the finish on them, but grrr, wish i could hear them. lol

u sure your yammy can output 4ohm?

im guessing you can in stereo.

I would recommend biwiring the speakers as the terminal jumpers can be finicky and not make good contact

Well the thing is, the amp or receiver (depends on how you look at it) doesn't support it. My subwoofer output uses these kind of wires. I have no idea how to wire that up to the speakers. Plus I'm not getting them for the bass, I already have my JBL subwoofer for that!

And I'll try to get some pictures of what I'm replacing. :P

lol those are cute, but yeah they need to go!

well, those ultimas are rated at 4Ohm, which is not uncommon for a stereo setup.

I personally have used these (link below) in the past, and I love them, but, don't expect major lows, its best to use them with a powered sub.

I think it does 8.

EDIT: THESE are the speakers I'm replacing, I already stole my dads Mission Center Speaker. xD

any amp supports biwiring you just put 2 wires in one slot

trust me you will save yourself a ton of headaches by getting the bridges out of the equation

I already have my JBL sub for the lows. They look really nice... I don't know if they are available here though, I never head of Polk. xD

You mean run the wire twice from the left speaker output to the left speak and twice to the right? Isn't it easier to put a wire between the two clamps instead of running 2 wires?

Anyways, thanks for the help thusfar! I might go and plan a trip with the friend of my sis to go out on speaker hunting with me this weekend. And I'll try to find anything on the Polk things.
