I have a Denon receiver AVR-888
I recently brought a pair of Definitive Technology Tower Speakers and now my receiver can't handle them. The pair has a total of 1400 watts and requires that I have my receiver volume to -23 to listen. (almost max) is there some sort of amp that allow me to add more power to my receiver so I don't have to buy a new one? If there is, please suggest me one within the 100-200 dollars price range. thank you

What? -23 is HARDLY max. You do understand that the decibel scale is logarithmic, and not linear, right? The increase from -3 to 0db is HUGE compared to -73 to -70.
The AVR888 puts out 100wpc RMS. That's plenty for your towers. If your new towers sound quieter than your old speakers, that just means that they are less efficient/sensitive. P.S. your speakers can't handle 1400 watts.

what model speakers did you get?
re: your question, here's what you need! lol http://www.audioart.no/Test/STRP-081200-MF_DRAFT1.pdf if your receiver has preamp outputs you could always get a good 'budget' power amp like this: http://emotiva.com/xpa2.shtm
