Headphone AMP?
I have had a pair of Audio Technica ATH-A700 for a few months now. I just moved to college and have been talking to my roommate. I just talked him into getting a pair of ATH-A700's as well which he is ordering today. I am using a laptop, so I don't have the Auzentech Prelude anymore for nice sound quality. I feel like my headphones aren't getting their full potential anymore.
I want to look into getting a Headphone AMP, but I don't know where to start. Any suggestion?

littledots & darkvoices are great starter amps
 are you looking for a portable one like your laptop? or will it be a stationary amp, for use in the dorm...for portable, look around for a used Mini^3, or PIMETA stationary, look for littledot MK I-III, or some of the darkvoice amps. do you have a budget?

I am trying to stay pretty low. Around $100 or lower. It depends on how much I will get at the end of September with my B-day money. I may just put up for a nice stationary one with vacuum tubes. What exactly do the tubes help? Do they reduce noise?

I was actually checking out the Mini^3 and it looks pretty nice for what I would use it for. Where can I actually get one? I don't have the tools here to build one myself, so I would rather have one built by a professional.

I'd rather upgrade headphones at this price range than buy an amp.

the Mini^3 is one of the top portable amps for the cost... and yes rockhopper or used on head-fi would be the suggested places to look, although I'd replace the rockhopper LED with a blue one myself, as I'm picky like that...
