Grats. I wanted them, but just couldn't bring myself to shell out the money. Maybe sometime in the future. I settled with JVC RX700's, just bought them on Tuesday from the egg for $35

I was going to buy the HD555s or the ATH-700s but instead got Denon AH-D2000s. Haha, but yeah. Grats, those are nice headphones.

Cool you made a good choice. And yes you got a good price for them there in Canada. How do you like them? (If you received them by now

They sound extremely warm and smooth. Great for orchestra, acoustic, reggae and casual hip hop. I find them a little lacking in punch for rock and club/trance but I am running them underpowered off my Audigy 2 so once I upgrade sound cards that could change.

They are extremely comfortable and snug on the head. The cable is excelent quality good and thick and 10 feet long.

^ Thanks for the quick review, I was thinking to get a pair of HD 555's myself, but I need the bass, so I'll be skipping this one than, unless I have enough money for a Xonar STX

Don't expect a better source to give you much more bass - the HD555 are known to lack it.

Have you let them burn-in yet?

I've heard they get a LOT better once they've been burned in for ~100 hours.
