Default Grado sr325?

I can get a pair of the sr325's for a good price. They are not the newer 'i' version.
What are your guys thoughts on this pair? I know the new ones run about $300 and i can get this for under $200 and was looking to spend about that.
I listen to mostly classic rock and some newer rock.
I don't have an amp right now besides my a/v receiver, but plan to get one later.

Also how well do the grado's sit on your head? They always look so small to me.

Heck yeah get it. Although some people aren't as fond of the SR325 as they are the SR225. But I would say go for it. If you don't I want them

As for comfort, Grados sit on your ear, not over and around. Some call them uncomfortable, my only experience with grados was not long enough to make a decision.

As for running un-amp, the 325s benefit from an amp, but grados do very well being driven un amped.

As for the sound, grados are considered the best cans for rock due to their sound signature.

Be careful with HiFi, spending money on it gets addicting fast.

I think Grados are very comfortable because the are so light. They aren't as comfortable as my RX900 but they come close just because they sit on your head nicely. I think it depends on how big your head is - I have a small head so they fit well but people with bigger heads tend to mention how they crimp over your ears.

This is the most true statement ever... If you do look into getting an amp for them I recommend a tube amp, all Grados sound better with tube amps. Usually.

I have this problem with my pair and i dont think i have an overly large head
i found that s1rrahs shack hack mod helped for comfort as well as taming the highs a bit, keeps the material covering the inner part of the phone from pressing on my ear.

I have looked into this mod^. It also comes with a few different pads. I found a whole grado mod thread on head-fi and some of the stuff is pretty sick.
