Default Suggestions on HTPC build

I'd like to reduce the cost if possible but still support 1080p movies. Movies and photos will be uploaded via wireless network, then once on the HTPC will be played so no streaming over the network is needed. Already have a dvr so I don't need to be able to record tv shows. May use for the occasional web browse. Also having an integrated mouse in the keyboard is convenient. No need for bluray or a dvd drive. Would like to keep the Lian Li case and all purchased from Newegg.

LIAN LI Black Aluminum PC-C36B Case - $179.99
DFI LP JR P45-T2RS - $114.99
ASUS GeForce 9400 GT 1GB - $54.99
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz - $169.99
Western Digital Caviar Blue 320GB - $49.99
IOGEAR 2.4GHz Wireless Multimedia Keyboard - $49.99
BELKIN F5D7000 PCI Wireless G Desktop Card - $16.99

Subtotal ~$630

edit: I already have 4gb of ddr2 800 that I will use

You can definitely get away with a Pentium Dual-Core, G31 board, and a cheaper Silverstone case.

I would suggest AMD, they work flawless with the 780 chipset and up supposely,

CPU+MOBO
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.258820

I don't know US prices but that looks like a good price to me, You dont' need a Videocard also so you save $240

That mobo even has DDR2, my safebet would to just have 2gb of memory in a htpc, and that would probably even be just overkill just depending on the os you throw on it

DFI LP JR P45-T2RS - $114.99
ASUS GeForce 9400 GT 1GB - $54.99
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz - $169.99

Replace those with:
$80 ZOTAC GF9300-A-E http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-019-_-Product
$80 Intel E6300 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-091-_-Product

Real world performance would be identical but you'll be saving $170 and 20-30w.

Replace the hard drive with a Seagate 7200.12. It would be $5 more but you get 35% more storage, better performance, and lower-profile to help airflow.

Great input guys, keep 'em coming. I've read a bit on people downclocking AMD and also considered doing so. OS will probably be Windows 7 Ultimate but I also have Vista Ultimate and XP Home to choose from.

You can downclock/undervolt Intel CPUs as well.....

Use Windows 7 if you plan to use Windows Media Center. W7 TV tuner support and MCE are better.
