I just got an ASUS 785G motherboard and I put my old 5000+ in it and installed Windows 7. I had seen a couple of other people use the 5000+ on a 780G for a HTPC, but when I tried to playback 1080p (in this case an mkv of Gladiator) it quickly rose to 100% load. I was using MPC-HC with CoreAVC and had Hardware checked on the decoder for CoreAVC. I had also heard that the 1-something GHz ION platform could easily decode 1080p, so I am kind of mystified as to why the Athlon X2 can't. Am I doing something wrong?

Get rid of Core AVC and use CCCP

Well I tried that. I don't really get how that would solve the problem as ffdshow is software decoding, but when I tried it anyway, it still maxes out the CPU.
__________________Edit: Well I guess the problem is solved for the moment. MPC and WMP both max out the CPU but ZoomPlayer does not. I guess it may have something to do with EVR or something.
