Default new htpc build

Hey guys,

I am contemplating the following build:

Shuttle SN78SH7

4gb ddr2 1066

phenom 9850be

4850

the only question I have is: Can the 300w psu run this setup?

Thanks

I doubt the 300w PSU will power this build...especially if it is the OEM shuttle one. I wouldn't run it on the 300w. Looks like a good build, however if you don't already have the parts you could use a AMD Athlon II x2 if your board supports it. A 4850 isn't need either, unless you want this to be a /gaming rig aswell.

Yeah, seems a bit overpowered for an HTPC. A high end dual and a low end HD4xxx series will cruise through HD content just fine.

ah, thank you for the feedback,

The parts listed are just things lying around. if they are too overpowered, maybe I should sell them for the other stuff

I can't recommend the 4350 enough. Great htpc card.

Unfortunately, it's **** for gaming

I read the 4550 is not terrible for gaming and low power consumer (35w)
