The only things I can see that MIGHT cause any issues would be an unstable OC and possible your hard drive. If you are watching the 1080 from a disc like a bluray I can only imagine that your OC would be at fault, but if it is a recorded video then the HD can play a huge part.

1. Check for stability
2. Is your Hard drive full

good thinking on the HDD i never really thought about that. my OC is stable ( confirmed with 4 hours of intelburn ) ive got about 35gb left on my 160gb hdd but i know its not that great of a drive anyways, i cant try from blu ray player because my wallet says no way....

It's not your HD.... 1080p needs less than 5MB/s and your HD can do at least 50MB/s.

What media player are you using?

It depends on what you are using. If it is a 1080p file, you need to get CoreAVC or something like that to help with the decoding. (works great) If you are trying to watch a blu-ray, then you need PowerDVD. Most media players do not use your vid card to decode h.264 or VC-1. That is what CoreAVC does. Gives the proper codec to help decode those files in 1080p.

5mb/s??

BS

for a high bit rate even 10mb/s will suffer

you need atleast 20mb/s to be sure!

run hard drive tests.

USE VLC media player ...if you already have it installed , uninstall it and reboot , then reinstall.

let us know!
