Default Just bought a Blu-Ray BURNER!!

I thought i would throw that out there...pretty cool though, its from LG called the "Super Multi Blue". I'm not sure you can get this one in the states, i got it here in Korea. It burns DUAL LAYER Blu-Ray as well, and its massively quiet during play. Lookup model number BH08LS20 or LS30. I have the LS20, and i'm really satisfied.

Couple cons: Downloading updates...****! 98 MB for an update. It took me like 30 mins but its the principle of the thing.

Their little system tray update utility doesnt tell you much about firmware n stuff, usually a util like that would. And when you go to the LG site, good luck trying to find firmware, or software at all.

But it is a VERY sleek drive. The bezel at the front is a glossy black finish (on my version), but i didn't see a second if you wanted to change it out, like LITEON for example.

Check it out.

I've had this one for a year and half.

I still haven't burnt a single blu-ray.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to this thread...(ModWar2)

Anyway, the burner from LG was about 215 after the Won-Dollar Conversion. As for what i would use it for...well the possibilities are endless. Even though i don't have the use for high-output video format on disc, i still have a f0ck-ton of blank dvd's that i can burn stuff onto. On top of that, this burner is DUAL LAYER, meaning that i could back up about 50 GiB of data onto one disc. For some people that is an entire C drive. Finally, blu-ray is really effing hard to scratch (unintentionally). I dropped "Iron Man" disc 2 on the sidewalk. No dings, no dents. little sand though. Don't try that unless you have a spare iron man blu-ray though. Simply put, an important system backup burned to blu-ray will have superior data integrity, and will not be succeptible to data loss.

And now Obsidian is a large effing monster.
