Do the older DVI-I M to Component adapters work with newer ATI cards? I posted a thread in the ATi forum about the DVI-I to Component cables, and I was told it will work with newer cards. However, what about this adaptor?

Common sense says no, but I saw a review on Newegg when they where still for sale, that it worked with this guy's Radeon X1250, and it's not a supported card, but I doubt DVI-I connectors have changed much since. I don't currently use component video, however, I have a project idea that may warrant the use of said adapter and new video card.

I'm guessing you read this already, but this was on the item listing page.
"Note: This adapter will only work with the following ATI Video Cards. Compatible video cards include: ATI ALL-IN-WONDER RADEON 8500, 8500DV, RADEON 9500, 9550, 9600, 9700 & 9800 series of video cards." I would hold this to be true. The old ALL-IN-WONDERs came with a specialized adapter that could plug into other cards, but didn't necessarily work.

I saw it also. But, I saw a sapphire branded one on Newegg, and this one review said it worked fine with a X1250...
