Default BIOS settings on P5WD2 Premium

While I have been here for a long time, I am still a big overclocking n00b, as I have spent most of my time here dealing with general computing. I am back on the overclocking horse now, however, and need some help! The rig I am overclocking is the one in my sig. The main question I have is, how should all the BIOS settings be used? I know how to use the FSB, vcore and memory devider settings, and I know (or have heard) that you should keep the PCI-E locked to 100 and the PCI locked to 33.3. However, I am still confused by things like ASUS's "performance mode", or the voltage settings for the north bridge, and such. Could someone who has this board please help a n00b out?

Performance mode I leave set to auto. I have tried Turbo but I dont see any difference at all. The MCH setting is the Southbridge and its the one that matters. In order to achieve high FSB rates you will need to add voltage here.
For the ICH the northbridge that controls your i/o and its not as important. While our boards are not identical they are very similiar.

I think you got your bridges mixed up their, lol

Anyway, how would I know when I need to up the voltage on my northbridge?

LoL ... I never could tell direction

I only up my voltage when I hit a wall based off the FSB. For instance if you know your CPU will run at 350 FSB with a multiplier of 10 but when you drop the multiplier down to 8 and your FSB hits a wall at 437 then try increasing your FSB voltage. In general once I run out of Vcore room on my OC I then try increasing my MCH. In general I prefer a lower FSB and a higher multipliers. In all honesty I have only run into a FSB bottleneck on My Opty 165 and my Conroe chips...

Well, my motherboard does not have settings to change the multi (that I can find, at least), so it looks like that is not an option
