Default BIOS Issues, Motherboard Issues, RAM issues, you name it. It's here.

Hi there, it's me again and I'm in need of some advice on what the hell could be wrong with my computer. The specs are below and I will try to explain the situation.

Two nights ago I lost a WU because "the server found a problem with the unit" so I restarted and went into the BIOS to lower my OC from 3.9GHz to 3.75GHz becuase I knew that was stable at that speed. I had my RAM (TCCD) on a 5:4 divider at 2-2-2-5 timings @ 2.8v and when I lowered to 250FSB (3.75) I changed to 1:1 but forgot to loosen the timings since it won't work at DDR500 and 2-2-2-5 timings @2.8v (my boards max vDIMM).

Long story short, I can't get into the BIOS anymore with both of my OCZ RAM sticks in. If I switch to my old Value RAM I can't even get it to POST, one stick or two (My first question: Why won't my old RAM work anymore? I was using it for a couple weeks before I got the OCZ). With the #1 stick of OCZ in any slot I can get into the BIOS (sometimes) only to have it lock up inside of the BIOS (My second question: Is this bad, lockups in the BIOS? And what would cause that?) With the #2 stick of OCZ, it won't POST at all, just like the Value RAM (My third question: Does that mean that stick of OCZ is bad?). Yesterday I took The Duke's advice and unplugged the PSU, took the battery out of the mobo and set the CMOS to clear and left it there for a few hours. This did nothing.

I am really stuck here. It seems like nothing I do has any effect. Any advice will be greatly appreciated! Thanks! RyGuy

If you have a volt meter then check to see if the power supply is power up properly. If got another rig to maybe check to see if your componants are good.

Thanks jrabb, not what I wanted to hear though. Maybe what I needed to hear. I am ready to throw this thing out the window!

Well, somehow I just got my old RAM to work again. I guess I will keep testing the OCZ to see if it is bad or what else could possibly be wrong with this rig, I am definitely getting a new PSU ASAP though.
