Have you seen this thread, where someone mentions a jumper on the motherboard one must change in order to access "Advanced Settings" ?

Yeah, I think this one is a "Slam Dunk", or maybe even a 3-pointer from half-court.

I will throw out one final pearl of wisdom. I have done exactly one overclock, but I did it very intensely, to the point where I modded my own BIOS.
__________________Which is the point; it's not that difficult. The reason why is because when you push an overclock past the hardware's ability to run, it crashes the system such that the BIOS (or "CMOS") needs to be "cleared" which is to say set back to the original factory settings. It is VERY time consuming to go into the BIOS and reset every single little switch, toggle, etc... in the BIOS, only to have it all crash again 15 minutes later. So, using a small executable that runs from a 3 1/2 inch floppy, I modified the all the settings for the "Optimum Performace" toggle in the BIOS so that when I toggled "Optimum Performace" all the "stupid settings" (like floppy drive enable, game port disable, etc...) would automatically be set to where I wanted them REGARDLESS of the overclock. So in one fast toggle, I could have 90% of the BIOS settings set exactly the way I liked each and every time. (You also waste a significant amount of time because you happened to forget a certain stupid setting, like setting the correct Boot Priority and/or Boot Order.) This GREATLY sped up the amount of time to run changes in the BIOS for overclocking testing. I'd clear the CMOS, boot to the factory, hit the "Optimize" button, and then focus immediately on things like CPU speed, vcore, etc.... This was all done on my Opty, which is AMD. I don't know if or how any of this might translate to Intel, but if it's possible to do I would advise doing it this way if you are serious about both learning to overclock and getting a good overclock.
