Quads have a little vdroop due to the massive power draw compared to duals, the voltage regulators get stressed harder. Those with quads on this board didn't have much vdroop (<.02v on average) compared to other boards because GIGABYTE has some very good capacitors and volt regulators on this board

Any ideas what else is in F9? The manufacturer never tells you a 1/100th of what it has put in there which is odd. You'd think they would want to broadcast any changes or fixes they did. F8 was major and it just mentions support for a different processor type. Nothing about the VDroop drop or anything else. Ever since getting F8 I'm afraid to upgrade. When you see what they can do with the voltage settings thru BIOS, I'm afraid to update and possibly loose the changes they did last time. Probably would be less concerned if they were open with what has changed, but most MB manufacturers keep their bios changes quiet.

Found out one thing that may be huge. Supposably the F9 bios supports setting Loadline CPU vcore control item. From the little I can find on this feature it majorly helps with overclocking and from what I have read allows for higher CPU overclocking with lower voltages.

Any comments on this feature?

F9 sounds good.. I got distracted with slipstreaming my windows and forgot to flash. Definately not forgetting today this looks exciting, more overclock and less volt

Flashed to F9 and the board didn't blow up so thats a start The best explaination for the new unique CPU vcore loadline calibration option is:

I haven't done much testing yet, I will do some more over the next few days as I will need to run orthos for long periods (>6hrs) to find the difference, I'am at 1.264v for 3.2Ghz right now and a hair lower will give an error, so assuming I drop to lets say 1.258v and its stable that means this option is treasure

You ask and you shall receive. There is also an additional interesting feature listed there, high precision event timer. Don't know much about it but it sounds positive at least for Vista users from what I read.
