I have looked around for this and there are tons of people out there trying to do it with flash drives and CDs but nobody has a straight answer to the question. I know it can be done. Can someone tell me how to format my flash drive so I can boot to dos from it and update my BIOS?
I am on an Abit FP-IN9 SLI and the bios is from 4/??/2007 and I need the latest one because my board hangs on post unless I turn it off and let it be for a minute.

Put your flash onto a cd-rom and make it a bootable cd. Nero can do this. When it boots to the cd you can run the file. I made a boot cd with all available bios for my MSI board.

Yup. I've done the flash drive too but it's not worth the effort if you can avoid it. The best option is definately nero boot cd with the file burned onto the disc. Takes maybe 3 min to do it =)

ok. I guess I can do that.
After I make the CD bootable, what files do I need to have on it? Is it just going to give me a DOS Prompt? (that is fine, bc I am comfortable with dos.)

Yup. In the nero classic version you can create a boot cd and that will load caldera dos. Then you just add the flash to the disc. Execute it like you would a DOS command.

Awesome. I will try that when I get home at 12:30. I will tell you if it worked. I jsut have to find a blank cd that doesn't have scratches from hell all over it... O.o
