Default Asus P5N-E SLI with Q6600 G0 Rev

Hey dudes, this is my following spec's before i start my rant.

Mobo: Asus P5N-E SLi Updated to 0801 Bios.
Memory: Crucial Baslisitix PC2 8500 / 1066mhz Stock 2.2 voltage / 5-5-5-15
CPU: Intel Quad 6600 G0 Revision
VGA: Gigabyte 8800GT
PSU: OCZ Stealth Xtreme 600w.

Ok this is my issue, I set the Vcore to 1.35 and my FSB to 1300 which isnt a very big overclock, ram unlicked with cpu set at 800 with ram timings of 5-5-5-15 2T. Ram Volt 2.25 but strange enough in Asus Probe or even speedfan it'
s showing up as 3.3v??? Anyways, it wont post when i raise the FSB over 1220 which is about 2.7.... I need help with this mobo to atleast overclock it to 3.0ghz, On the gigabyte mobo i was running i had it stable at 3.8....

Please help with some things i could try or even settings i should change.

Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome to OCN.

First of all there's a thread for P5N-E SLI Mobos.
http://www.overclock.net/intel-mothe...hread-172.html

This motherboard is known to not overclock Quads over 3.0 GHz; if I remember correctly the chipset is holding it back. I myself have not successfully overclocked my Quad past 2.7 GHz. Very few have got it to even 3.0 GH.

Since when did ASUS Probe report RAM voltages? SpeedFan doesn't work well with this board. The 3.3v is the PSU rails.

Best performance BIOS would be 0608. You can try 0801 and tell us how it works with the Quad.. But in general. Quads will not get past 3.0 GHz. (It will boot but fail Orthos or OCCT)
