Default unplanned bios update :/

well i've been planning on updating my bios for a while so i (might) achive slightly higher overclocks... But i didn't want to do it untill i was 100% certain i would do it the right way with the right BIOS version...

i went to the asus site ('caus i got a p4p800 se) and searched for the right update. The thing was how ever that i didn't know how to do it untill Coqauvin gave me a link in wich i did some searching around. I choose for the Ez-Flash thing... (i can't really give a link to it since i don't know how to let that site give me correct links ><. i'll post the explanation down below)
I still had a floppy disk laying around so i was planning on doing it that way, but before doing it i wanted to test if alt + F2 really worked for me. I rebooted the computer and pressed the buttons at the post screen... the computer rebooted and started searching for a floppy. obviously it didn't find anything, then to my surprise it started scanning for a CD and i was even more stunned when it FOUND a copy of my motherboard bios on it and started installing it! I did have a downloaded copy (from their site ofc) on my external hard drive... but i didn't know that it would start updating it right away, since it said it would only work from an floppy :/.

now my worries are that it might have been screwed up. ofc i'm still running on the computer, it posted, it's working fine, but i didn't reset my bios to standard values before the flashing, and almost every1 told me to do so... The system was still running overclocked. Could this have any effects on the flashing of the bios?
I do really think it did update since the post screen is slightly different, although when i look at the bios itself i (hardly) see any difference.
anyone has any comments on this, or knows a way to make sure everything is working as intended?

Use built-in EZ Flash BIOS to Refresh

1. Download latest ASUS BIOS from ASUS WWW and rename the BIOS filename to "xxxxx.ROM" (xxxxx represents the motherboard model you used, eg. P4C800 BIOS is named p4c800.ROM), and save the file in a floppy disk.

2. Reboot the system.

3. When the system is at POST after reboot, please hold down "Alt" + "F2" to view the following image. You may start executing EZ Flash utility. Please place the floppy disk with latest BIOS inside and insert into the floppy drive.

Note: If you have not placed any floppy disk into the floppy drive, you will see a warning message stating "Floppy not found". If the utility can not find the correct files in the floppy disk, it will show "p4c800.ROM not found!" (Assuming the motherboard is P4C800) message.

4. The system will auto-detect whether the floppy disk contains the relevant files in the floppy drive. If there is no problem, the EZ Flash utility will begin auto-refreshing and reboot the system once it is done . The procedure for refreshing is show below.

Yikes, scary stuff! Just be glad that your system seems to be ok. Have you tried actually booting into windows and such?

I have always be very careful when flashing to make sure the bios was entirely default but just because your system was OCed while flashing it doesn't have to mean that it messed something up. If your system wasn't booting at all I'd be really concerned but see it as atleast a glimmer of hope that it's posting.
