i was updating my bios to F8a just to have the latest bios i downloaded the bios put it on a new floppy.I did the usual bios update everything passed. It told me it was done so i hit f10 to shutdown.I turned it back on I get this error stating

"AWARD BLOCK BOOT : Scanning BIOS Image on Hard Drive."
...

i have searched on google for this problem i have checked if i flashed the right bios to the right board and yes i did anyone else have this same problem if i cant fix this i will have to rma it (my father is throwing a fit )

If the CMOS reset doesn't work, can you get into the BIOS at all? Put the motherboard CD in and unplug your hard drive(s). This should force it to boot from CD and maybe restore the bad flash.

i reset the cmos it does nothing and no i cant boot into the bios at all when i boot up it does not even post it just shows up it shows

well im going to just call gigabyte and see if they can help me

What is weird is that other boot blocks ask for a floppy and mine is looking for a image on the HDD

Probably depends on what you have the boot order set to in the BIOS (the bad flash BIOS). If you can't boot off the hard drive or the motherboard CD, you're either in RMA land or you'll have to swap bios chips, which means having another motherboard around to swap out the chips.

FYI, I fried my DS3L 9bad gfx card) and I have the board sent out for RMA. Gigabyte is poor with communication and I sent it out 3-4 weeks ago. I would be prepared to either go without or buy a back-up.
