I have a Gigabyte P35-DS3 motherboard and I cant change the RAM frequency.
I got some new crucial ballistic PC-8500 1066Mhz RAM the other day but its only running at 1000Mhz because the only way to chage the RAM clock is to up the cpu fsb speed or change the RAM multiplyer, is there a way to manually change the frequency? I have press cntrl+f1 and I sill cannot change it, it looks like its been locked. I can see the title, and the frequency its running at, but cannot change it. Hope someone can help. Cheers.

There must be an option in BIOS. Can you post a screenshot from BIOS?

You need to change the RAM multiplier. It is listed as auto, 2.0, 2.4, 2.5, 3.0 etc. This will multiply the FSB to acheive RAM speed. It is on auto by default.
edit: Sorry, didn't read the entire post, lol. there is no way to manually set what you want it to be. (as in, set it to 1000 mhz no matter what FSB and multi you run) You are forced to use whatever speed the FSB/multiplier combo gives you the closest speed. edit2: For example, I am running an E2180 and DDR2 1000 RAM on my DS3L. I have the FSB set to 340 and the multiplier set to 3.0. This gives me 1020mhz which is very close to 1000.
