Hey guys. In my bios there are options for CPU GTL Voltage Reference & Clock Over-Charging. I was just wondering if anyone can explain to me what these two options are and how they could affect/help my overclocking.
Thanks Slappa

F@hrming OC's

Gunning Transceiver Logic- Increasing this level will help bring stability to cpu's at higher FSB's. A lot of people are getting deeping into studying this, as it is a key point for OC'ing multi core cpu's..especially important to getting higher FSB's with a Q4.
From my understanding of it.. the GTLv needs to be raised in order to cope with the additional electrical noise created by increased FSB and electrical current through the mobo. The GTLv has the ability to 'filter' out noise in the electrical signaling to the CPU, that would cause instability. In your instance, you might not need to increase the value at all, as you will not be hitting very high FSB's with an e4xxx cpu..but experiment with it and let us know how it works for you. -as far as Clock over charging.. I am in the dark still. I leave mine on auto. ![]()

Ok. So the GTL voltage reference wont really help me then as much as if I was using a quad. Thanks for all the Info guys.
But still that leaves me to my other question. What is Clock-Overcharging?

"The Clock Over-Charging Voltage option sets the additional voltage supplied to the board clock regulation circuitry....." I'm cautious with this one.

I have read the above documents on this and it seems if you increase vcore a slight increase in gtl ref may be required ,
