Default FSB voltage question?

Alright well in my 780i bios theres the fsb voltage. Im only slightly familiar with this.

Question is, will a higher fsb voltage raise cpu temps?
I have my fsb voltage @ 1.4v right now and im pretty shure thats too high for a q6600 at only 266mhz. Ill overclock later but for right now what should i set it too?

The higher voltage will raise temps. Right now, ive got a tiny OC on stock, and i actually lowered mine (voltage) to lower temps.

Alright thanks so the FSB voltage does raise cpu temps?
Cool..

Any suggestions on what i should have it running @?
Ive seen people say that they have it at 1.4v when overclocked so im assuming that i really dont need 1.4v.

Im just trying to figure out a increase of a few Degrees that has taken place ever since my 780i.

Im not sure how your bios is set up, but all my voltages are displayed in toggles. Just for a ref cause im a little fuzzy on what i set it to, but i think i lowered mine to around 1.2 v. Stress 'think'. If you have toggles, try lowering it by one (toggle) and run OCCT or StressPrime etc.

When i lowered the volt, i went down to the low mid 30s. On a cold day sometimes a couple of the cores hit 28, idling of course.

If you do go down in volts, take small steps. I've been told that undervolting can damage components.
