Default BIOS Update question

I am trying to update my bios for my ASUS Striker II Formula to the latest released bios 1101.
I have use my floppy drive to update bios's in the past.

Are there oter options? I have coppied the AWDFLASH rom to a USB Thumb drive but the EZflash tool does not recognize it. I have also copied the rom to a CD-R disk and tried to update it that way as well.

Can some one please provied some guidance?

Thx

check this thread http://www.overclock.net/intel-mothe...38-thread.html

the first post shows how to flash using a thumb drive. i think it would work the same way but use the 1101 BIOS instead of the Rampage BIOS

That seems like alot of step to preform just to update a BIOS.

Is there no certain directory a person could use on his hard drive to update?

it is actually very easy and takes only a few minutes. i flashed mine 4 days ago. on a side note, all of the newer motherboards that i have had (Abit IP35-E, Gigabytw X38 DS4, Foxconn Mars) have had a BIOS flashing utility. I was able to flash the BIOS by just searching for the latest update. does the striker II have an update utility?

I have always used Asus Update within windows myself. Most ppl are against this, but i have never had a problem myself.

Before flashing your Bios, return you Bios settings to defaults.

You can update through the bios. First copy the bios rom file onto a USB drive and plug it into a USB. Then just go Tools, then run the EZ Flash utility. If you have the bios rom on a USB, it will read it off the USB and allow you to flash it.
