Default No chance to increase Vcore!?

So I have this e6600 on a p5k-e (v.0902) and I can get it to 8x400 (1.4v with good temps) with stability. Same at 9x355 and up to 365. In fact, at 9x365 the volts are only 1.368 in the bios. As soon as I push it to 366 I'm no longer stable, not even for 10 mins of OCCT. When I check the Vcore hasn't moved, so I try to bump it a touch to gain some stability, but as soon as, and anytime I change the voltage in my BIOS to anything but auto I can't even get a proper boot.

Most all my settings in the BIOS are on auto, except the C1E Halt, which I've disabled (right?). What else should I be doing so I don't keep hitting this wall?

Or, should I just content myself with the 9x365 at the reasonable volts?

Extra Credit Question:

Why is the Vcore lower at 3.29g (9x365@1.368v), as opposed to 3.2g (8x400@1.4v)? My guess is the fsb difference. Anyone know?

I gotta go to bed, but any ideas are appreciated. Thanks.

ps ~ my temps are fine, I run my ram at spec or slower, depending on the divider, the psu is good, God is in his Heaven, and all is well with the world. Nothing to niggle me except the limitations of my cpu, myself, or both.

I wouldnt be afariad to bump vcore up to 1.5, make sure your upping the mch voltage around 1.7v on memory or higher for stability. Most mobos have vdroop where the actual vcore in bios you reading is lower when windows loads. ALLEN
