All of us 780i owners know about the video curruption issues with all the 780i boards.
EVGA released a bios update a few weeks ago for there 780i board
Today XFX finally released their BIOS update (P05) for the 780i boards.
I spoke to the Tech support guys there and they said it is aimed at resolving the Video curruption issues with these boards and sorting out some RAM compatabilty issues mainly around RAM with clock speeds over 800MHZ at stock.
It aparently offers better overclocking of core2duos and adds some extra support for quads.

It must be on its way, Nvidia released the details to the manufacters weeks ago now.
EVGA had thiers out 3 days later
XFX today
ASUS and MSI must be any time soon now i guess.

It seems ok, i have been running a dvd for over 2 hours now and no problems at all, before it would currupt and lock up after about 20 mins.

ASUS already has theirs out I believe. I could be wrong but the new 0502 BIOS that came out in mid May fixed my video corruption prolbems. I can watch DVD's and play movies on YouTube and my g/f watches videos on her MySpace all the time since this BIOS and it performs 100%

Dont know why as the boards are almost identical, but they cant (as far as im aware)

This new BIOS seems much better, no Video curruption for over 8 hours now and it seems to overclock my RAM slightly higher for some reason.

They can be swapped actually but it will invalidate your warranty. Hence if you cook your board (with no way to reflash the bios) and send it back to EVGA or XFX, both will not warranty it.

Why would anyone want to use evga bios on an xfx board or vice-versa???? They surely must be almost identical and there cant be any performance to be gained from doing it.

Anyway this new bios seems great, no problems yet at all. ABOUT TIME!!!!!

Hi guys! I just ordered my XFX 780i and cant wait to get it
But you guys that have go this board longer than me, is there any guides how to overclock i, and maybe a official thread for it? Saw one for the Evga 780i but none for the XFX..

Use the same guide as the EVGA board, the bios settings are the same.
MAKE SURE you update your bios to the one i posted the link to above or you will have some issues.
