Default System won't start.

Hey guys, yesterday I ran my system for the first time after a month of sitting around. It's a finished project. I installed a new copy of Win XP-Pro sp2 (32bit) on the brand new Velociraptor. After installing chipset, network, SB-Xfi, and nVidia drivers everything worked just fine so I went to bed. Today I started the machine to see if I can start overclocking it but my monitor told me that there is no signal. I restarted the machine and nothing came up again. Also I noticed that there was no HDD activity durring the start. I cleared the CMOS and still nothing. I'm thinking this has something to do with the audio card because it's also brand new and I never used afermarket sound cards before. My mobo is (Intel D975XBx2) CPU (E6600 never OCed). What should I do???

P.S. I also upgraded the BIOS for the heeck of it. To see the machine go here Ultra BMF

Remove 2 sticks of ram, if that fails remove the CMOS battery for 10mins.

Thanks man, I'll try that as soon as I get home. Does anyone else have a suggestion?

I would remove all but one stick of ram. Clear cmos like mhill2029 suggested. If that doesnt work post back.

Ok guys! I've tried removing a battery for an hour, booting with 1 stick of ram, no ram, different hdd, and still no luck. When I hit the power button:
-fans and a pump start spinning,
-DVD-ROM spins the disk (if inserted)
-no hdd activity
-no video signal (tested the GPU on my sig rig and it works perfectly)

what do I do now?

Move the one stick of RAM one step to the right. No success on the first stick, try a different stick.

Before removing the CMOS battery this time, there should be a jumper to reset the BIOS. With it turned off, move that to the other two pins to short it out, then remove the battery for ~10 minutes & unplug(or turn off) the power supply. Some people suggest you try to press the power on button a couple times to drain the capacitors.

If you can get into the BIOS at this point, disable anything to do with CPU fan and anything else doing with Air Cooling.

Good Luck!

Have you tried booting with a PC speaker attached for a possible beep code?

1. Unplug the power cable from the system
2. Remove the CMOS battery
3. Hit the power button to discharge any power that is left over
4. Put the battery back in
if you do it this way and hold the power for 5 seconds you dont have to wait

does the same thing but quicker
