Default Intel D975XBx2 Extreme BIOS [oc n00b]

Hi guys, I didn't know how to bring my previous threads to your attention so I had to open a new one. I'm working with Intel D975XBx2 mobo on which I'll be overclocking C2D-E6600. My question is: Does anyone else have this mobo? My bigggest problem is BIOS, I can't find C1E and Speed stepping in the menus so I could disable those two. Please help me find a solution to this problem, I don't want my clock speed to jump between 1.6 and 2.4Ghz when I'm overclocking it. System specs you can find in my sig under [Project Ultra BMF] link. thanks in advance everyone!!!

You will have to change a jumper on the motherboard near the CMOS battery to boot into maintenance mode to access these functions. Also, while you are there you will want to disable to the watchdog as well. As of BIOS 2674, if you leave it enabled all attempts to increase your CPU voltage will result in failures to boot. Save your new settings in bios and shutdown turn power off and change jumper back to normal mode.

I wouldn't disable speedstep or c1e as they are not going to limit your overclocking on this board. This board tops out around 340 FSB on quad cores, so i'm guessing dual core will top out around 380-400 or so.

HEy Nettwerk!!! Do you own this mobo? Right now I'm @ 3ghz stable, but to be stable I had to change the ram frequency from 800 to 667 (5-5-5-15). I'm using Patriot Extreme series pc2-8500 and would like to run it at full potential. How do I change ratio from 5:4 to 1:1 ??? I'm a complete n00b, I know the theory behind OCing but can't put it to use on this board.

THanks for your reply brother~

Yes I own one of these motherboards, it is a very good board about as stable as you will ever find and will overclock decently just not extreme.

Changing the memory reference frequency is how you change the divider on this board. You can follow this link to see all the options available to you at whatever FSB you are using and your cpu's mulitplier.
