in my motherboards AI Tweaker menu there is no "CPU Ratio setting" button, also there is no such button in the advanced>CPU ratio setting menu, though the user manual says that these buttons are in these places.
Am i supposed to blame my old p 4 550 (3.4 Ghz) CPU in that? how do i fix this issue? VGA: Jetway geforce 8800 GTS 512; CPU: Intel Pentium 4 550; RAM: Corsair DDR2 800 Mhz 2x2GB sticks Thx, T6n Last edited by t6nnnu : 08-24-08 at 05:55 AM Reason: font changes for easier reading :) |

Hi,
Interesting...Mine has it. Which BIOS are you using? I am presently using the 1201 BIOS w/ my C2D E8400. I just checked the supported CPU list and yours is there. It could indeed be the result of your using a P4. Buy yourself an Intel C2D...They are reasonably priced now. Ask ASUS...They will know for sure. Honestly, I have not heard of someone using a P4 in such a beast of a MOBO. regards, erico

.Well the great idea here was to upgrade my PC step-by-step. First VGA, then mobo, then CPU, because by budget couldn't have resisted the whole stuff at one time. so i bough the mobo first so that i could clock my old CPU until i get a new one. BTW, i sent a mail to Asus from it's homepage about 5 or more days ago. they have given no sign of life . any ideas?

If you purchased from Newegg just send it back by the time Asus responds you'll be waiting for a while with a rig down.

The multiplier of the processor should be blocked, no?
On my Q6600, it works normally, from 9x to 6x.
