Well I set the timings in the BIOS to 5-5-5-12-2T (as my memory is rated) and the BIOS saves them fine but when I checked the timings in CPU-Z the 12 was shown as 18
__________________ . Maybe CPU-Z is reading the timings wrong but I suspect the correct timings are just not being applied. Auto timings yield the same results.Any help on this would be much appreciated. Thanks.

5-5-5-12 and 5-5-5-18 are basically the same timings just the /18 is just a little looser that all.. It always good to have your timings loose to start overclocking with, then you tigthen timings after u find ur OC mate

Thanks but even if I wanted to tighten my timings then obviously it wouldn't work.
__________________Anyway in an attempt to fix this I now have a much bigger problem. I tried to flash to the latest 1503 BIOS and now the PC won't boot. I've tried clearing the CMOS and that didn't fix the problem. I thought flashing in Windows with ASUS Update would be fine as it worked last time; I'm never flashing that way again lol.

Took out the battery to fix.
__________________I still can't get the timings that I put into the BIOS to be shown in CPU-Z. Any ideas as to what the reason is? Or how I can fix this? I know you tighten timings after an OC but it's not like I'm tightening timings, I'm just trying to set them to stock. Any help on this would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I just did a tiny pverclock to 2.8 and this is what is shown in System Properties but CPU-Z is showing the CPU at stock still. The memory timings are still off along with the memory speed and the SPD. So basically I think that CPU-Z just might be the problem lol.

What version of CPU-Z are you using? What are the timings and speed shown during the post screen? Try everest.

Be sure you are looking in the Memory Tab, not the SPD tab in CPU-z

This is using the latest version of CPU-Z and the 2nd latest version. Tmings and post screen show 5-5-5-12 [timings]/ 2.8 [CPU speed]. Just looked at Nvidia control panel and noticed the problem - it's set to load a profile with incorrect settings on boot. I'm going to disable that now and everything should then be read correctly. Looks like i'll have to re-stress my PC to check stability though as I was obviously running prime at stock. I have high temps at stock so even though the the overclock is very small I want to check just in case .Well I just rebooted and now CPU-Z is reading my memory and CPU settings correctly so there's no longer a problem .
