True, I did put it in the wrong order.

OP, a replacement MB would be a straight swap. You would not need to reinstall anything. But they will just reload the bios into the bios chip for you.

Luckily things haven't got that far . I put the battery back in today and everything's fine. It even shows that I'm on the latest BIOS revision as well which suprised me . Would you re-flash [not through ASUS Update] just in case? BTW am I supposed to be locked to just a 6,7 or 8x multiplier? [before I could go a lot higher].
Thanks for the help again guys .

Your E6750 has a max multi of 8x:
Intel E6750 specs

You are always locked at the max multi, and can lower it down to 6x. Your bios should be OK unless you flashed it while OCed. That can lead to irratic behavior. When flashing the bios, you need to restore bios defaults, then set the ram's voltages to the manufacturer's specs.

Thanks. It's strange that 9-20x weren't greyed out on my previous BIOS rev. I've found that auto gives the best voltage for my RAM. If I set it to auto it fluctuates between 1.88 and 1.9V (mostly 1.9v) whereas if I manually set it to 1.9v the voltage can go as high as 1.95v and I've read that lower voltages are more stable on this motherboard.
