ok well i went to download the newest bios available for my mobo. i got a warning while downloading it saying that it is not advisable to update your bios unless you are experiencing problems. is this true? also how do you update a bios lol?

Got your Asus driver cd with you? Flick that in, and install the "ASUS Update BIOS" software. Extremely easy to use and works well.

I updated to the 801 bios using a floppy drive and the bios updater in the BIOS.

still hav bios 0402 and works fine here. Only doing maintenance on bios update.

OFFTOPIC:- Hi Blacky. Ur Processor n mobo is same as mine. But i couldnt overclock beyond 3.1 ghz n i see u reached upto 4.0. I should reach atleast upto 3.6 on stock. So plz tell me step by step wat u hv done n also send me ur setting.
Other thing is my temps are around 50 on idle n can reach upto 70 on loading n it had reached upto 81 once i have used ortho testing. So i dont know y my temps r so high? My cooling is proper. Is my pro is faulty? So plz send me ur temps also.

thnx bro. I'l try ur settings 2moro n rply u. Btw, 2day i hv set nb to 1.4 v, vcore to 1.36, everything else stock. N increase fsb upto 350(3.15ghz) but temp were around 58 on idle. Couldnt go beyond 350. Boot failure or blue screen error. So returned bak 2 dfolt.
