Default Sketchy - Need BIOS Help

Well - figured out my mobo issue with startup and shorting out (didnt have the standoffs set in so the case was shorting out my mobo)

and now i come to my next challenge - BIOS

First of all, what do i really need to change in order to get everything safe and satisfying in the bios? I haven't really touched it yet other than going in real quick to make the system boot from the disk drive first to install XP

This is where my problem comes into play - I throw in my XP disk - pc boots up fine to the disk and starts installing whatever...

next thing i know it says "preparing to run windows" or something of that sort and then BAM!!!

BSOD
(blue screen of death...not better sounding on drugs)

input would be very much appreciated - thanks!

(PS: System specs for the rig in question are now in my sig)

Google the first string of the BSOD code (the first 8-10 letters followed by a number). That should give an indication of where to start troubleshooting.
Or see this on MSDN.
Scroll down a bit for typical BSOD codes.

The typical problem in your situation is incorrect memory voltage. Check that the memory manufacturer's recommended voltage for your memory is set in the BIOS.
