Default Bios Chip Help

Ok, a while back i was really stupid and when i flashed my bios i didn't check to see if it was the right version and my warranty was expired then so i had to replace my motherboard. I had just recently spent some good money on a nice agp graphics card, which i still use, so i had to find a replacement board compatible with my current hardware. but now i miss my old reliable board b/c this one sucks. now getting on to the question... I recently went looking and after at least 20 google pages found the correct bios. i checked both my old an new bios chips and they are compatible. my only question is, since my old bios chip is soldered on, would it be possible to desolder it, flash it in my new crappy board, and re solder it back on. I do pride myself at being good at soldering and i do not in anyway care if i destroy this chip. but would anyone have any alternative ideas or suggestions on how to remove it safely or details on the desoldering aspect (i said soldering, not desoldering above).

sorry for the question being so long but i couldn't really think of how else to ask it without you all wondering why i would need to desolder my bios

You can not use the BIOS file from one motherboard model on another motherboard model even if they use the same BIOS chip. ...if that's what I understand you want to do.

If you are just ordering a new BIOS chip for the old board it will come with a BIOS file already installed. Itshould come with the latest BIOS already on it. If not, install it (got great soldering skills?) and flash it to the latest.

I don't have the answer, but maybe these guys could help..

http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/bios-master/

They seem to supply pre-flashed BIOS chips for many motherboards, although I guess most will be of the socketed type.

ok, im sorry i might not have been exactly clear

My old msi board has a soldered on bios chip and a bad flash

my new foxconn board has a socketed bios chip of the same type and i hate the board b/c it sucks.

i wish to remove the chip from the msi board, hotswap flash it in the foxconn boards socket, and then re-solder it back to my msi board.

No need for all that. Order the new chip with the BIOS already flashed.
