Straight shutdown with no BSOD or freeze?

I think your PSU just crapped out on you. You don't mention a PSU in your sig.. so i'm assuming its a cheap PSU.. they tend to die alot.

PSU is the most important part of your computer and a budget one should never be purchased. They have the power to fry your entire rig and they have to power every single thing in your computer.

If possible I'd try a new PSU. Worse case that thing could start a fire, or ruin your entire computer. I've heard some pretty bad things (I've had a PSU blow up on me and nearly started a fire.. but the flames stayed inside the case) and I definitely wouldn't want to mess around with a PSU that could be faulty.

ya everyone always jumps to it being the psu, check all your conenctions quick. I almost spent 300$ on a psu because that's what it was thought to be, but instead it was just a loose graphics card ^^
