Since when were heatsinks supposed to be cold? They're sole purpose is to conduct heat away from the CPU.

watched a lot of these and when i read ur title it matched up into one glorious episode. And to those who say it was a waste at least u dont have to do the experiment to know what happens. I dunno if i was the only one compelled to microwave some pc parts at one time or another in my life but there u have it.

Eh... why are they torturing that perfectly good microwave? That looks like a major fire hazard, they shouldn't be doing that in a house.

Lol "there is sustained fire - This motherboard is now overclocked!"

That said those kids are idiots IMO. I've been through like 20 microwaves either from them catching on fire or blowing up. I always solder in leads form the stock "start" button so I can remotely start the microwave from a safe distance. However I do support there approach at the scientific method if for nothing but "safety" - I don't recommend fooling around with a microwave unless you can take safe measures. They are a little too close to the microwave for anything that could explode (mobo has no potential lol). I always have my experiments conducted at least a hundred yards away in a giant field, with absolutely no one closer than me. I think the "will it blend" guy has a way better series going!

There's much more than lead in motherboards. The poor workers in China and Hong Kong who spend 16 hrs a day melting down CRT tubes and old motherboards have some of the highest cancer rates in the world. Those fumes are lethal.
