I have an Asus (ipibl-lb) motherboard with an E2180 processor. My problem is that it has the HP BIOS that is locked so that I cannot change any settings necessary to OC. If anyone has any ideas (short of throwing the thing out of the window) on how to unlock or replace bios with a NON-HP BIOS please let me know. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Oh, did I tell you I was poor?

I don't believe you can just install a different bios on this mb but I may be wrong. Your probably going to need to use programs to overclock.

If I have to use an outside source to OC then does anyone have any suggestions on what program would work best.

I've got an HP with the same MB, but a E7300. Find the program clockgen. When you run it, go to the PLL setup page, and for clock generator (if it's like mine) should be IDT CV174C. Press the read clocks button, then go to the PLL control page and SLOWLY ramp up the FSB slider. My E7300 runs at 2.66Ghz and 1066mhz FSB stock, can run it at ~3.1GHz and ~1237mhz FSB all day long. Not a huge overclock, but considering you're not messing with the bios, not too bad. And the best part is, if you go beyond the capabilities of your system and it freezes up, just restart the computer. Since it's software based, you have to run the program to get the overclock. Hope this helps for you.
