Yes, you CAN use different brands in SLI. I currently have an xfx and an evga card running in SLI.

I was having a weird problem last night with my drivers, because last night I upgraded from windows xp to vista x64. After that, I installed the new drivers and my cards wouldn't work in SLI! I had to mess with them, in order to get them to run in SLI.

I am stupid... and dumb, but try this, it worked for me... take out the cards, then put one card in and try it in all the slots. After that try the next card. Then put both cards in and connect them with the SLI bridge. After that, if everything is ok, try to enable SLI. If that doesn't work, uninstall the drivers, use driver sweeper, then take out the cards, switch the order of the cards in each slot. Install the drivers with only the switched card in the top slot. After that, shut down, and put in the other card, turn on the computer and enable SLI!!!

It tiik me forever to get SLI working with Vista x64, (with XP it worked perfect the first time), I just had to switch the cards, install the drivers with only one card installed, reboot and install the new card, and for some reason it started to work. Now everything is A_OK!! Don't give up man!

Try a bunch of crap, and maybe one card, then shut down then install the new card. Just try a bunch of stuff. I worked for me!!!!

Good luck!!!!!!!.... I had a rough night of pc problems last night and now I am rambling!

ive said it before and i'll say it again, i'll never buy another asus board.
they've given me nothing but hassles, they are a load of crap. when my last asus board started mis-behaving, i got my current gigabyte board which has never given me any grief.

if you want problems, buy asus, if you dont want problems, buy any other make.

asus boards are about as reliable as a chocolate teapot

I will ask this again as you did not answer the first time.

Was your system running stable before you fitted the second GTX295 and the second kit of 3 x 2GB ram ?
