Hi, so I overclocked my E4500 to 2.4Ghz and increased the voltage to 1.375, I know that's high for 2.4 but the maximum is 1.5 so i'm pretty safe. But the thing is it actually makes my in-game FPS drop, I have a Radeon 4870 1gig RAM and I thought that I would get about 100 FPS in any situation in Team Fortress 2, but just looking out onto an open map makes my FPS drop to about 40 FPS, and if anyone has played TF2 then they would know that playing scout can require high FPS.
It's quite annoying really, increase my GHz but getting less FPS, makes no sense to me, any help would be appreciated. CPU: Intel E4500 @ 2.20Ghz (oc'd to 2.42) Mobo: Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 PSU: Cosair 620 Watt Modular Graphics: Sapphire ATI Radeon 4870 1 gig |

Is it fully stable in orthos or prime95? Sounds like a stability issue my rig did same thing then figured out my board was dying or at lest hope it was board just got a BIOSTAR board and will start overclocking soon so we will see. Either it was board or my chip is going south in that case time to get a new one. More then likey the board it has overclocked 3 CPUs already all on air and all super high vcore and chipset volts.

Hellspawn or Hell's Pawn?

Make sure Speedstep and C1E and all those temp/load related settings are disabled. It could be setting the voltage higher makes it hotter, in turn cutting the clock speed in half.

Sounds like you left your ram Linked which is fiddled around with your ram timings, Find your Highly OC then fiddle around with the timings to get the best possible speeds!
