Most RAID's store information on the drives in case you need to replace something. I can tell you from experience that on TWO different ASUS P4P800 DELUXE machines that I flashed the BIOS on -- I LOST THE RAID -- I even flashed it back and could not get it to rebuild the array. The first time I did it was a RAID 0 on a workstation. The second time it was a RAID 1 - and usually with onboard RAID you can just rebuild it even if you lose it. WELL NO WAY! LOL not this time

It didn't for me. If I flash my BIOS which I've done numerous times lately, it'll flash that I'm using a RAID, and which drives are on the array, but if I put RAID back to enabled, and make it so SATA 1 and 2 are on RAID, then my Mediashield w/e manager recognized the array right away.

P.S: Not using my Perc for this. Using the mobo's raid support. Lack of cables.

It's not the flash that sets things back to default, You should do that yourself after the flash to make sure nothing gets turned on you didn't want. And anytime you reset CMOS you will loose the RAID setting on the controller and have to turn it back on. It's no big deal as once you turn it back on it will recognize your array.

Buddy when i was done there wasn't a shred of the old BIOS systems on that board. You just have to go back and turn on the RAID controller, then add the array back to the list. It may be different for different chipsets though.

No, but you would have to reconfigure the bios setting for your raid setup, make sure to set SATA to raid.
