Default can i flash my BIOS with a cd?

hey OCN,
so i want to flash the BIOS on my EX58 UD4 motherboard. I was wondering if i can flash them using a cd or dvd on my specific mobo. Since i don't have a floppy drive or disk. and can someone give a specific description about how i can flash my BIOS

USB flash drives are better for this... I don't know how to do it though.

you can do if off cd. i do not remember the exact steps, but you have to make a bootable cd, then make it emulate a floppy with your flash prog and bios. a friend had helped me last time i am trying to get hold of him now to see if he can refresh my memory agin.

That's not necessary. He has a brand-new Gigabyte board, so it's at easy as putting it on a USB flash drive or CD and running the QBIOS/QFLASH/whatever-its-called utility.

The two gigabyte boards that I have owned have both been easily flashed with a usb drive. It's super easy and only takes seconds.
