Default 2-for-1 Thread: What do these BIOS settings do? (Gigabyte) +BONUS RAM question FREE!

I'm still learning about BIOSes and their various (and often confusing settings), so would someone be kind enough to explain these settings? (since most of their descriptions in the BIOS are brief or in broken English):

CPU/PCIEX Clock Driving Control (currently set at) [800mV]
CPU Clock Skew Control [Normal]
(G)MCH Clock Skew Control [Normal]
FSB OverVoltage Control [Normal] (ok, obviously it controls the FSB voltage, so my real question is when should I up it?)
Robust Graphics Booster (All it seems to do is make my system less stable)
Performance Enhance (Also hurts stability)
High Precision Event Timer (HPET) Support [Enabled, 64-bit Mode]

And now for the bonus question!
Why is it that my system becomes sluggish and unstable when I run my RAM at a 1:1 ratio? I use the setting called System Memory Multiplier (SPD) to adjust the ratio, but the settings are worded weirdly (see attachments).

What is (G)MCH Strapping anyway and how do I properly set it? If I set it to anything other than Auto (which puts the FSB:RAM ratio at 5:6), my PC will freeze up and come back often, sometimes BSOD. (I haven't tried messing with it though since switching from Vista to Win7 in Jan). I've always heard that you should have your RAM at 1:1, but is it really that important?

/Ok, so I found this FAQ on the clock skew thing which might explain my stability issues. I'll be sure to give it a read when my ADD allows me. The rest of my questions still stand.

1) You up the FSB volts when it becomes unstable (usually at higher FSB's)

2) No, running the ram at 1:1 does not make the system work faster, having more ram speed is always better unless you can get some crazy low timings at 1:1. So up that memory multi so your memory runs close to 1100mhz and use the 5-5-5-15 timings set and rated voltage. Using the 333 MCH strap and 2.4 multi works best for me, but results may vary.

1100MHz? That seems a little high. You really think my RAM can handle that aggressive of an OC? What voltage are you running yours at if you don't mind me asking?
