Default Can't update Gigabyte bios in Win7

Hey, I'm running Win7 64 bit with a Gigabyte N650SLI-DS4 and I went to update my bios because my computer won't shut down properly and I'm not sure how to fix it (I'm hoping that a bios update might do the trick). However, the install exe won't run because it is incompatible with 64-bit. I don't see a 64-bit version anywhere on the Gigabyte website.

Any ideas on what I should do?

Can't you flash it through the bios using a flash drive. I have done it this way on all of my recent gigabyte motherboards.

@juggalo:

that's the weird thing...there are NO options for what type of file to download. no 32/64-bit option, no ISO/EXE option. Seems like the only possibility is 32-bit exe

here's the link. I'm pretty sure I'm running F7 and I want to try F8F

+1 for the help

@Mike:

hm, do I just move the .exe onto a flash drive and then boot off of the drive?

I just put the file that I download on to the flash drive and then go into my bios. On the bottom there are options such as f8 q-flash, or something like that. Then just follow the few steps and it's flashed. It might be different for your mb, but that's how I've done it on a P35 and a P45.

Pg 64-68 of the manual shows how to flash using Q-flash.

Oops, didn't unpack the download file.

So the install worked, so thanks! Unfortunately Win7 still won't shut down, it just restarts every time I tell it to shut down

go to control panel / power options / "choose what the power button does" /
"When I press the power button" select - shut down in drop down choice.
or check Power management in bios for settings.
