Old Gateway BIOS Update Failed...
So I was having problems with an old Gateway MFATXSTL EL2 500S desktop so I wanted to update the BIOS. Well, it failed, and now I can't post with it
 .It has a P4 1.8GHZ/256/400/1.75V and it uses DDR ram. Don't know what socket, but I'm sure you guys will. Sometimes I can get to some form of BIOS, and I'm hoping that I can try to reflash from there. What are my options? (p.s. I can no longer find BIOS updates on Gateway's site, but the motherboard says "INTEL TYPE. D845PT" next to the northbridge and "E210882" under the bottom PCI slot if that helps. Both labels are printed/painted on, not stickers. Basically, I really want this thing set up as a media box and folder, but I think I ruined it .

i always thought if you messed up the bios update then the board is fubar'd.
did you back up your bios before updating?

time for a new mobo buddy. sorry. only bet maybe is reset - button/battery, but thats slim to none.
Good execuse to build a NEW media center? my local frys had asus and tri core phenom combo deal for 90 bucks the other day. watch the sales.

I did not back up the BIOS. I was not away that this was possible

update: Here is where I can get to. It won't post, which is the only issue I can find...
There must be some way to reflash BIOS from here. Right?   edit: the mobo has the ability to boot from USB (which I assume means a flash drive). Can I use a flash drive like a floppy to do the flash?
