Default Bios upgrade question.

I have a P6T Deluxe (version 1) and my CPU recently fried (well I think. The motherboard turns on but the monitor only shows a black screen. It won't POST.). By the end of this month, I'm going to buy another i7 but what if I get the d0 stepping? Is it possible to upgrade the bios using an uncompatible CPU? Or am I in trouble here? My motherboard version is currently version 1003.

Are you sure you fried the CPU? They are very resilient and its pretty rare to fry a chip like that.

Make sure it really is the CPU before upgrading/flashing the BIOS because you cannot flash the BIOS with an incompatible chip.

Iv had the same problem as you a couple of times and in both cases it was the mobo that was at fault.

Default Did some tests

I did some tests and I have some pictures too.

The CPU fan spins...

But my GPU doesn't

There's normally a blue light somewhere around here when it used to work (it turns on for less than one sec when I turn off my PSU)

Do you see some bent pins? I don't

Here's my CPU with some sections that is in a different colour

Here's a better angle

It all started when I redid my whole computer. I decided to reapply thermal paste so I took it out of my motherboard. Before it was broken, it ran at 3.8 GHz. I've checked all of the psu connections and all have been connected. It's also not the GPU because it's still working (i'm using my friend's computer but I'm using my graphics card). And I also put a speaker inside and I haven't heard a single beep. Can you please help me? Power supply, motherboard or CPU?
Sorry for crappy image quality
Edit: Looks like I'm going off topic.
