As per the title people wonder if i can pick your brain for a tick.
Bought a PNY 9600gt about 4 months ago just to bump up the gfx qualities of the games i'm playing, and when i stick my computer on standby, it sounds like the cpu/gfx (more like the cpu fan) fan goes to full and doesn't seem to stop....soon as i log back in, it returns to normal. Dell BIOS sucks and I checked it before I logged in and it's sitting in S3 mode, is that the correct one? I remember reading this info on here. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

S1 mode has the fans and hard drives still running. S3 should shut down everything.
