I found that too, but didnt think it would reflect on the BIOS this way. Thats why I put my old P4 in there. Its a 90nm chip and is on the supported list, so I should be good to go.

none yet. 3 hours with the battery out seems to reset bios, but I can only enter bios one time, then after that it goes into the loop again. I think the problem is that when it is updating the backup bios it restarts itself before it is finished. I got into it manually one time but when I tried to update the bios to the newest one that i had on a thumb drive (f8f) it was bigger than the storage space in the bios. I am gonna try to revert it back to an older bios that isnt as big, and see what happens.

Forgot to mention, last night (this morning) I also started installing XP x64. I was all excited, but then when it needed to reboot to finish installation it went into the loop again. 30 minutes ago I started the system up and tried to flash the backup bios to with the main bios, and turn off "auto recovery" to see if that help. Restarted, and it went into the loop again. I still havent tried the older bios yet. I will try that in 3 hours just before I go to work.

Just thought I would add that I flashed to an older BIOS version (f7) on the main and backup BIOS and solved the BIOS problem. Thanks for all the help guys.

I just find it strange that they released a BIOS revision for this board (f8f) that is larger than the storage capacity of the BIOS chip? Either way, when I get these Windows issues worked out, all will be much better.

I think it might have to do with phantom power or somethign of the sort related to the capacitors and the PSU. I know for a fact that PSUs can hold a good deal of electricity in them a while after being unplugged. Though, truth be told, I don't have any legitimate electrical training .

I didn't see any data-storage capacity in the definition of battery.

I'm not sure that's possible, and what issues?

Hi, Dec_42! Long time no see!

Then this could be an explanation as to why even pressing the power button (even the one right on the motherboard, if it's so equipped) doesn't seem to fully drain the capacitors. But hey - the capacitors in the PSU are much bigger than the ones on the motherboard!
