Default BIOS problem with Gigabyte N650SLI-DS4

Just got this board today, and I was excited to get my build-on.
Just as any knowledgeable person would, I removed the CMOS battery as soon as I started, and placed a jumper on the "Clear CMOS" pins.
Installed Processor and HSF, RAM, and GPU.
Removed the jumper, and replaced the battery.
Hooked up the PSU.
Power On!
Ok, all is good, POST beep, hit [del] to enter BIOS, select "Load Optimized Defaults" hit [F10]
PC restarts, POST beep, Then 5 quick beeps, and goes to BIOS flash screen, where it proceeds to copy BIOS A to BIOS B?
Then the endless loop starts.
Repeating this process over and over.
Hitting [tab] shows
Warning: Backup BIOS bad checksum!
Then repeats flash.

Is the backup BIOS chip trashed on this board?
Any way to disable the backup BIOS flash?
Any way to fix this at all?
Someone Please Help.

The only thing that I can think of is to clear the CMOS again, then avoid the "Load Optmized Defaults" option.

I cleared the CMOS again, but it starts that flash loop again, and I cant even access the BIOS. Nothing I do stops it from doing that.
Could it be a dead CMOS battery?

Also, Checking the FAQ on the gigabyte website returns the following result:

A When prompted with the message “Check sum error”, please restart the system and load into BIOS setup and select “Load Optimized Defaults” option, please remember to save the settings and exit. This should fix the error, however if the problem still remains kindly contact your local supplier or our local distributor for further assistance.
A lot of help that is!

Unplug the board from AC power, pull the battery and press the power button to bleed out any residual power. let it sit like that for 30 min or so. Then replace the battery and try again to boot. I would also suggest updating the bios ASAP to ensure you have support for the 45nm wolfdale, as it wasnt originally supported with earlier bios.

I've often wondered: why should it sit so long?

I will try this as power is disconnected with battery out right now for about 15 minutes already. The guy I bought it from had an E5200 in it already, so I would think it was supported? I also think he already flashed to latest BIOS.

To clear out all the information left on the battery? When you really think about it, it does have to hold quite a bit.
