Got this board in hand for a customer. But i don't see a prompt to enter the RAID BIOS (yes, i have enabled RAID in the central BIOS.) Am i missing something?

Figured it out. I had to turn the backplane on by pressing all the HDD's buttons on the front. I thought they were just fancy lights on the front... Problem being now the machine blue screens.
First time using i7, not going well.

Ctrl + I should enter the RAID bios if that is what you are referring to.

A couple of things here:
- on Intel boards, the BIOS->Advanced->Drive Configuration option may need to be changed from Legacy to Enhanced, and the RAID mode to Enabled - many boards also have a BIOS->Boot->AddOn ROM Display mode setting - I also encountered a (really annoying gotcha) on a non-Intel Bios board (Asus P7P55D) where setting the addon JMicron controller to AHCI mode appeared to mask the ICH10R RAID prompt - something else to watch out for. Hopefully these notes help someone ... though I suspect the OP has already resolved their problem. |
