I recently received a free E6600 with P5Q-Pro and some other goodies and as I was building my computer I used my old Hard drive (Sata 1.5) from my previous computer. However after installing a fresh copy of XP. All the information showing up on the bios settings are from my last computer, it detects my CPU as 2.4ghz 3800+ AMD, detects my 2gb ram and 1gb and the bios splash screen is for the A8N-SLI....?
I have no idea how to fix such a problem. |

I don't think it's possible for the data on the hard drive to affect the settings displayed in the BIOS

Seems very strange. I don't think the Bios gets any settings from the Hard drive.

The BIOS is a chip that info has to be burned to, how is the HDD going to burn info to a semiconductor? Bobthebuilda's first post....
